Lumo

I just watched the film "Lumo," which is about women in the Congo who have suffered from brutal rapes that have led to fistula (rips in the vaginal wall where rape tore out chunks of flesh separating the bladder and rectum from the vagina). The movie was touching and powerful, reminding me of the importance of empowering women around the world. For more information on fistula and the Congo, check out this Ms. magazine article.
